Digital, AI and Innovation Internship 2026 (Global Call)
UNDP's Digital, AI and Innovation Hub is one of the most prestigious entry points into global development work. This is a fully remote 3-month internship with a $200–$500 USD monthly stipend — work from anywhere in Nigeria while contributing to UN systems transformation projects, data governance policy, or AI applications for development. Eligibility is broad: final-year students, Master's students, and recent graduates (within one year) all qualify. About the role
As a Digital, AI and Innovation intern, you'll contribute to one of UNDP's high-impact technical workstreams — systems transformation, digital and AI initiatives, data governance, knowledge management, or project monitoring — based on your skills and interests. This is a fully remote, 3-month full-time internship under the DAI Hub, designed for students and recent graduates passionate about applying technology to global development challenges.
What you'll do
- Conduct research on emerging innovation trends, horizon scanning, and document innovative programs
- Support the rollout of digital and AI initiatives globally, including training materials and workshops
- Contribute to data protection frameworks, digital rights, and governance policy work
- Maintain knowledge platforms, produce research summaries, and support content dissemination
- Track project milestones, improve operational processes, and develop internal systems for efficiency
- Engage with global UNDP teams contributing to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) projects
What we're looking for
- Currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master's or higher), OR
- In the final year of a Bachelor's degree programme, OR
- Recently graduated (within one year before the internship start date)
- Fluency in English (required)
- Interest or experience in digital innovation, AI, public policy, or development work
- Proof of health insurance (interns must arrange their own coverage)
- Ability to commit to full-time remote work for 3 months
