Why we featured this role

The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme is one of the most prestigious graduate fellowships available to Nigerians today — a joint initiative of the Federal Government, UNDP, and European Union designed to tackle graduate unemployment. Cohort 2 (NJFP 2.0) is now accepting applications with an upgraded matching system and wider placement opportunities. The combination of accessible eligibility (any discipline, minimum 2:2), concrete value (₦150k monthly for a year), national geographic reach (all 36 states + FCT), and strong CV signal makes this an unusually high-value opportunity. Apply early — historical NJFP cohorts have attracted very high application volumes.

About Federal Government of Nigeria · UNDP · European Union

The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) is a flagship graduate employment initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and funded by the European Union (EU). Launched in 2021 to commemorate Nigeria's 60th independence anniversary, the programme is designed to address graduate unemployment by connecting young Nigerian graduates with structured, paid work placements at reputable public and private sector host organisations across the country. NJFP 2.0 represents the second cohort, with an updated structure, smarter applicant-to-host matching, and wider placement opportunities.

About the role

NJFP fellows are placed in 12-month paid work placements at host organisations across Nigeria — spanning federal ministries, state agencies, multinational corporations, NGOs, and Nigerian private sector companies. Each placement offers structured professional development, mentorship from senior professionals, and exposure to real organisational work. The programme covers data analysis, project management, public policy, communications, finance, technology, and many other functional areas depending on the host organisation and the fellow's profile.

What you'll do

  • Complete a 12-month structured work placement at an assigned host organisation
  • Apply academic knowledge and skills to real organisational projects
  • Participate in mentorship and professional development sessions
  • Contribute to the host organisation's objectives across the placement period
  • Build sector-specific skills and a professional network
  • Engage in cross-cohort networking with fellow NJFP participants

What we're looking for

  • Nigerian citizen
  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in any discipline
  • Minimum of Second Class Lower (2:2) for Bachelor's, or Upper Credit (CGPA ≥ 3.00) for HND
  • Maximum 30 years of age at the time of application
  • Must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme
  • Not currently engaged in any formal employment
  • Graduated no earlier than 2017
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and national development

Compensation & benefits

  • Monthly stipend of ₦150,000 for the full 12 months of placement
  • Structured 12-month work placement at a reputable host organisation
  • Mentorship from senior professionals across public and private sectors
  • Career readiness training and professional development modules
  • Post-fellowship career support and alumni network access
  • Exposure to diverse sectors: government, multinationals, NGOs, fintech, healthcare, agriculture, and more
  • Strong CV signal for future opportunities — NJFP is widely recognised by Nigerian employers
  • Geographic flexibility — placements across all 36 states and the FCT
